SUMMITS & CONFERENCES
Together with our partners, we host online and on-site summits and conferences in Africa, Europe and across the world to educate people about the climate crisis, create climate awareness, build better climate network, inspire people to join the climate movement and create climate opportunities.
EXPONENTIAL CLIMATE SUMMIT 2020
RACE TO ZERO THROUGH DIGITALIZATION
SEPT. 24, & DEC. 5TH, 2020
To beat climate change, we need decisive and exponential action. In the Exponential Climate Action Summits, we bring together the foremost thinkers and doers in climate action to discuss what innovations and policies exist that can bring the change required in order to halve emissions by 2030 in the Race To Zero.
We have explored how digitalization can enable sufficient action in businesses and governments. We have also discussed the solutions that digitalization brings in the sectors of energy, transport and industry, along with the frontrunners of each sector.
We need exponential climate action to halve emissions by 2030 and we have the solutions – but We Don’t Have Time to wait. Join us in the Race to Zero!
This conference was hosted in Stockholm, Sweden; Lagos, Nigeria and Washington DC, United States.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2020
June 15, 2020
A concern that is both urgent and existential. Recent events from bushfires in Brazil, the United States, and Australia, locust infestations across East Africa, and now a global pandemic—demonstrate the interdependence of humans and the webs of life in which they exist.
Nature is sending us a message. To care for ourselves we must care #ForNature. World Environment Day has been celebrated every year on June 5 since 1974, engaging governments, businesses, celebrities, and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issue.
EARTH DAY CLIMATE CONFERENCE 2020
April 20, 2020
The finance industry holds, many would claim, the key to securing the transition to a fossil-free society. Solutions need funding to scale exponentially, and the fossil fuel industry needs to be defunded. Climate-conscious stakeholders are already moving in this direction. Is the finance industry actually the climate movement’s best friend?
CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND CONSUMPTION
April 21, 2020
In the developed world, consumption-based emissions make up a huge part of the total footprint. The Anthropocene is inextricably linked to ideals of material affluence and production and distribution models in the globalized economy. How do we remake our economies so that we do not overstep planetary boundaries? How do we scale solutions for sustainable production and consumption?
BIG IDEAS AND EDUCATION
April 22, 2020
50 years ago, the Earth Day movement was born. In 2018 on Earth Day, We Don’t Have Time hosted the first-ever public, free, no-fly, online climate conference. In 2020, we team up with Earth Day Network to celebrate their 50th anniversary with six days of live online broadcast – Earth Day Week. Our special theme for this day is education and innovation. In other words: big ideas!
FOOD AND AGRICULTURE
April 23, 2020
Agriculture is part of the problem – and part of the solution. The agricultural sector is a huge emitter of greenhouse gases but also has the potential to sequester billions of tonnes of carbon through reducing livestock emissions and increasing soil health. Our eating habits, and the way we produce food, holds the key to a carbon positive future.
LOCAL GOVERNANCE, CITY DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSPORTATION
April 24, 2020
A global challenge with local solutions. The fight against climate change is not only fought on the international stage. It is in equal measure fought through the choices we and our local leaders make every day. A sustainable society is not a pipe dream. It is constantly realized through local innovation and initiative. Join us for some of the best examples in construction, transportation, and city planning.
